Catch Up

Been a bit since we last chronicled the tales of MonkeyBoy. That would be because MonkeyBoy opted for SleepStrike. As such, he isn't up to par nor is his mother. And when I say he's not up to par, I mean Eli with only 4.5 of 24 hours sleep equals a Whining Mess that is quick to tantrum over something as simple as the way you said thank you. In case you wondered what sheer exhaustion looks like, I give you eyes glazed and dark circles doing an amazing job of not falling asleep no matter how much he wants to give in to temptation
We didn't spend the entire weekend wishing for sleep despite a total lack of napping. Nope - we did cool stuff like brave Target on a Saturday! And waiting an hour for a haircut because there was only one stylist but thankfully there was plenty of room at the train table! I am always amazed and how much older Eli always looks after a haircut
And please note that airplane? Best seven bucks I've spent in a LONG time. He LOVES it.

We also cleaned out the toys in Eli's room. Well I should say I cleaned it out while Eli kept getting THRILLED at the sight of toys long hidden in the depths of stuff. I set up the FisherPrice nativity on his bookshelf. Please note the angel is MIA so we improvised with an air-traffice controller. And since there are no shepherds we let Noah & Ms Noah come hang out, too. Eli loves his "Baby Jesus" as he calls it

We've had another night of protesting sleep as you can see but I am counting a victory for the Actually In The Bed And Not Standing At Our Bed Asking To Play

Oh wait David just came back here & let me know there is a Win in the corner of Sleep. I am pleased to announce He Finally Went To Bed at nearly 11 p.m. Maybe tomorrow night we can aim for, oh, I dunno - 10:45 or something.

If you are apt to wish us something, wish us sleep would you? We could all use some 'round here.
