Each week we work super hard to learn our verse fot Cubbies. Generally I create some tune and by Wednesday night we have the verse down pat. This week's verse? My eyes have seen your salvation. And the variations have been a treat - from my eyes have seen your starvation to my eyes have seen your celebration.
But what really gets me is the fact that both last night and all morning? Every time I ask him to Tell Me That Verse Again? He tells me ummm God Is Super?
Why yes he is. But let's try the scripture this time, mkay? Hopefully he'll actually pull up Luke 2:30 by 6 p.m. tonight. Hopefully.
Please note: The above picture, while I would LOVE to say is a prayful pose directly related to the nature of this post is actually from last night when my son was totally distraught over not getting to go jump in the creek at the end of the cul de sac. Why yes I am that horrible mother that does not let my four year old son go jumping in snake-filled creeks. Maybe when he's 8. Maybe.

Music is such a great way to remember scripture. When I was growing up, there was a three-year cycle to all the lessons, and hence a three-year cycle to all the memory verses. A composer friend of my dad's put all the verses to music. (There were commercial cassette tapes and song books!) There are still several verses that I can sing.
