Remember that one time when you sent me to school without underwear?

Today I sent my son to school commando. Sans underwear.

It wasn't on purpose. I don't even remember doing it. We were in a hurry this morning as we had to run by his STEPs school since he left his beloved hat there yesterday. Plus I had to leave to travel for evals, making it even more of a rush for the morning. And then David was home not feeling well & that made my morning even more of a hassle in that there are certain ways we normally do things and it just threw our normal routine off. Ya know, to the point that I, oh I don't know, Totally Forgot To Put On The Boy's Underwear.

Did he happen to mention Um Mom You're Forgetting My Underwear??? No. He just let's me help dress him without them thanks.

So he gets to school. Is making it through the morning. Goes potty. And is heard calling out from the bathroom in the classroom HELP I can't find my underwear!.

So Ms. Diana goes to help Eli. And What Do You Know she can't find it either! Because it's at home. Where I left it.

Thankfully there is an Emergency Pair of Clothes. You know, for when parents forget to send their children in underwear the set you take every year that your child rarely if ever has to use.

And then tonight we get home from church - and Eli goes to the folded clothes - pulls out a pair of his underwear and walks up to me and says Hey mommy? Tomorrow when I go to my daddy's school? I can wear deez underwears. Because I need to wear underwear to school.

Um yeah I'll um try to remember. Ha. Yeah right. Like I'll ever forget underwear again this year! Like I'll ever forget his underwear ever this century! He'll be 30 and I'll be asking him if he remembered his underwear. He'll be telling folks about that one time his mom sent him to preschool without any underwear. Oh yeah it'll be a grand time. Especially when I apologize to the teachers on Friday. I'll make sure to mention this story in my acceptance speech for my Mother of the Year award.
