Life Lessons

I must say we've learned a few good life lessons from The Boy in the past week. School has been a huge help in educating us on the finer things.

For instance, last Wednesday we apparently learned how to make change from the offering plate. I sent in a dollar's worth of quarters as Eli's Chapel Change. And he came home with 75 cents in his pocket at the end of the day.

Thursday? Well Thursday he informed me "No put head in sand box" becauses you know how I am apt to put my head in things every time we play. Thank goodness he learned that one before there was sand all in our hair, no?

But today? Today we got a three-fer!

At St Luke School we learned "No play in sprinkler at school" followed quickly by "play in sprinkler at Eni's house" (apparently Ms Mary contributed to the learning by informing the Monkey it is okay for sprinkler-time at home to which we give a huge sarcastic Thanks).

And then we learned to not pick "go dat way not dis way" when going for a neighborhood walk because sometimes "dat way' means a longer walk until you get home and even if you are tired of both walking and pushing the wheelbarrow we still gotta make it back to our driveway.

But the most important lesson of all from today? Do not tilt the wheelbarrow toward the storm drain because your treasured acorn you picked up a the top of the hill at the beginning of the walk will go down the drain and you will not ever see it again no matter how much you jump up and down & no matter how loud you scream. Please commit this one to memory.
