Well I'll Be

Eli skipped school today. Well, that isn't exactly true. Eli did not attend StLuke School today because his mother overslept. I had Columbus day off and so we celebrated together by going to the grocery store & Walgreens & skipping nap. Yes that is right - for the second day in a row the Monkey skipped his nap.

I needed nap today. I wanted to take a nap myself! But no dice despite valiant efforts of getting in Mommy's Bed and watching Between the Lions.

We muddled through the afternoon, albeit with many a whine and several a tantrum. Supper. A bath. And then?

Then he informed me "Eni go Eni's room" and I asked to play? and he said "no Eni night-night in Eni bed"

And that he did. Shock of all shocks the child that has never gone to sleep at a decent hour went to bed before 8:30! The Monkey's Mommy would like to report that although it was heavenly that bedtime came so early it was not heavenly having the Monkey wake up at 2 a.m. and begin a speech on eating chicken and going to school. A speech that lasted nearly 20 minutes before I the MonkeyMommy put him in bed with us and prayed he'd eventually go back to sleep.
