David had a church meeting tonight, so Eli & I did what we love to do when Daddy's not home for supper ~ we hit up the Chicken Store (Eli speak for ChickFilA). The drive-thru, as always, had 867 cars wrapped around the building but no chance I was braving the inside with MonkeyBoy having thrown 212 tantrums from the house to the car alone. As always, I racked my brain of Ways To Make The Drive-Thru Fun. We let the window up and down and up and down and up and down ad nauseum. We pulled all the "prizes" from the side of the carseat. And then? He asks "Sing Song Mommy"
Something you should know about singing with Eli - he likes to pick the song, the duration and the volume at which said song is sung. I think he gets his musical bossiness from his father. Regardless, he wanted to sing the "Joy in muh haht" song he learned at Bible school. Only half-way through the song? He said "wait a minute" . . .
Then right there two cars from paying my son folds his hands together and begins to sing the blessing he learned at church (as our home blessing is the short and sweet sentence chosen by Eli "Thank you God for this food AAAAAmen") and he began to sing . . .
God ah fah-der, God ah fah-der
We tank you, we tank you
Fahmanybwesin, Fahmanybwesin
Run A-way, Run-Away
I seriously busted out laughing there in the drive-thru.
He's cute. Think we'll keep him.
