Busy. Active. Not Scared of Anything. Usually.

Every time I'm asked to describe Eli's personality, one word comes to mind: Busy. And then there's that whole loves to jump and be thrown - great at climbing - not scared of anything (usually) - rarely stops moving - even active in his sleep etc etc

Eli's long loved physical stuff. At six months, David would sit across the living room from my brother Matthew and they would toss him across the room. He loved it. My brother Wesley pushes Eli up and down on his hands - like Eli push-ups. He leans over the side of his bed. He's been placed on top of the fridge and the eve of my mom's carport - with nary a shake.

Once I came in the living room to find Eli standing on a step-stool on top of the picnic table reaching for the fan string. He's used his sit'n'spin as a step to reach the DVD player. He jumps between furniture constantly. Eli gets on and off the trampoline by himself - and will quickly drive his power wheel truck over if the step is missing so he can "reach." The boy's a problem solver for sure.

Eli loves nothing more than to ride on Daddy's Ride (4-wheeler). I don't know if it's the whole wind-through-his-hair or what, but he would ride that thing All Day Long if given the chance. And the brave Monkey Boy went for a ride tonight in the woods behind the house. He has a sense of adventure.
But. BUT. That usually in the title? Here's what absolutely Cracks Me Up. For all the braveness - all the dare-devil tendencies - the need for adventure - living on the edge . . . . . he has a sensitive side. He's not always the Big Bad Brave Monkey - oh no. Because this afternoon? When a grasshopper hopped to close to his blue boot? He Freaked Out. Ran off screaming "MOMMY HELP!" and ran all the way across the yard so as not to be near that vile scary grasshopper

So yeah. He's Busy. Active. And not scared of anything - except for those scary old grasshoppers
