A very busy day for Monkey Boy. We started Potty Training In Ernest. In the world of Eli, this means going tee-tee in the potty every 30 minutes or so. He's very particular in that he wants to throw some toilet paper in the bowl so he can "tee tee on da paper" ~ whatever works, right? So a very fitting shirt to be wearing on this day of training because he was just that - awesome. Only one accident in a pull-up, naptime excluded! We were supah proud and did the whole 'woohoo you did it' cheer every time he went. Methinks part of the appeal to go potty is that he gets to flush the potty and wash his hands ~ let's hope that continues.

Especially awesome was that he was going potty out of his normal environment because we worked up at the church tonight. Eli thought it was great having Callie and Anna to play with. He even helped out with carrying boards and attempting to paint despite several thousand warnings to stay off the porch. Mr. Les even let Eli use the hammer ~ just took some creative thinking so the lefty could actually do it by himself. Eli was Extremely Awesome with a hammer ~ definitely gets that from his father.
Only downside to this wonderful day of potty training and helping at church was one over-tired boy tonight. He showed his extreme overload by a 30-straight-minute tantrum, which included the mantra "Eni get dah nuuu car Eni get dah nuuu car ENI NUUU CAR!" (he'd temporarily misplaced his blue car and my gosh how could I his mother not find it while driving 40 mph down the road?!). The fit continued the entire car ride home plus an addtional fifteen minutes for I guess good measure. Oy vey. Guess he wanted to prove he could even be awesome at a tantrum!
Thankfully he's all tucked and snug in his bed - with his cup, two cars, his monkey, the Elmo blanket, his Mickey Mouse, the blue car, his cart, three pillows and an airplane.
