Thank you God for swimming pools.

As part of Eli's bedtime routine we pray with him each night. He's since taken over the praying portion, saying a Thank You God for so many things. Tonight's prayer went something like this: Thank you God for mommy. Thank you God for daddy and Eli and Millie. Thank you God for Eli's cup. Thank you God for swimming pool. Swimming pool after church. Amen.

We picked up a cheap little pool for Eli & I told him after his nap today he could go swimming. Sure enough, after nap he informed me he wanted to go swimming. I had yet to put the pool up, so I had to stall. I told him we would go swimming after he went to church with Daddy. He asked, "Swim at Ellen's house?" because we went swimming at her house last time. I told him Not Ellen's house. He thought a minute and then said, "Swimming at Matthew's house?" and how he remembers that is beyond me because we haven't been since last year. He was quite puzzled at that point and after a long pause asked me, "Swim at Eni's house?" I guess he forgot carrying that box all the way through WalMart and the 867 times he asked me just this week to go swim in Eni's pool.

We did go swimming - and by we I mean Eli and Millie. That's right ~ Millie made herself at home halfway through Eli's swim. I'm not quite sure who had more fun, the Monkey or the Dog. We have plans to swim again tomorrow & I must say if it's as hot as it was today? I just might be tempted to join them.
