A Busy Day

Today was a milestone day for Eli ~ not only did he have his First Ever Trip To The Dentist but he also started his STEPs program at David's main school. STEPs will be every Tuesday & Thursday morning from 8:30 until 11:30 & Eli will get his Occupational Therapy while there. He has five other little kids in his class.

Anyway. The dentist - we saw Dr Lugo first thing this morning. Eli was In Love when we came inside and Cars was playing on the tv in the waiting room. Cars would currently be The Greatest Movie Ever in Eli's mind, as he watches it a minimum of three times a day. He reenacts scenes with his toy cars. He sings Life is a Highway and sleeps with Mater and Sally and "Baby Red Car." Essentially he is Hooked. We hung out and watched Cars until Dr Lugo was ready. Eli did pretty good for his first time but didn't really like the whole sitting still and having the mirror in his mouth. We got a Very Healthy Mouth report and they aren't concerned with his palate right now so Hooray! Eli ended up with a new purple toothbrush and a prize from the treasure chest.

Then we headed to school, where we were thirty minutes late but hadn't missed anything but breakfast. Eli has a sub this week but went on in the class and after some direction from the teacher gathered with the class to do some puzzles. I picked Eli up this morning . . .

Me: Eli did you have fun?

Eli: Have fun? Eni play game with balls

Me: You played a game with balls and it was fun?

Eli: Eni sing ABCDEFG

Me: The Alphabet Song!

Eli: Yeah.

The sub and parapro said he did "great" and I had Eli tell all his "friends" bye before we left. A Very Banner Day for Eli. And even though he was a whiney tail glued to me whenever I happened to be in the room tonight? He's been asleep for over an hour already. Methinks school tuckered him right out. I can only imagine how exhausted he will be after he starts his regular PreK on Friday!
