On Milestones

Eli went "eww" in the potty today! Don't worry, there are no pictures I promise. But I was informed while driving down some road in south Georgia that he'd hit this major milestone when BigMama called and put the Monkey on the phone. I know that this is the first time & he might not go again for like eight years - but it's a start! He was apparently quite proud of himself, too.

I had a friend talking about describing your child's personality in ten words. I asked David and he said "wide-open." A very accurate description. I'd also have to throw in stubborn and loving as well. Plus there are those times that are very frustrating for us all.

One thing is for sure - Eli's getting better at the fine motor and speech stuff. Okay so he still can't say fingers right to save his life. And he still insists he is All Done the minute he starts doing something crafty that requires his hands touching glue. But tonight he painted with watercolors at Awana! I was right proud of him, even if he did make it look harder than it should've been - how he didn't spill the water is beyond me!

So lots of little steps in the direction of the Monkey is Growing Up ~ further proof being t-minus a day until we start PreK!
