The Simplest Things

We ran by Ellen (the SLP) and Mr. Dick's house this weekend, as I was doing a project for them. Eli of course made himself completely at home, including following Mr. Dick in to the bathroom which seriously caused me to wish for the floor to swallow me right up but I digress.

While there? Eli managed to come home with a "parting gift" - an old telephone that belonged to their kids. Eli LOVES this phone. He has made many (long-distance) calls, including to Daddy, Granny, Big Mama and even Ellen. He twists the ringer so he can hear the cow and the music. And he even tries to prop the ear piece on his shoulder just like mom and dad.

It's amazing how the simplest things can make a kid happy. Like the boxes and wrapping paper at Christmas. Just a phone - it's just a phone - but he LOVES it.
